Principal's Message

Dear Students, Parents and Guardians,

Hello and welcome to Notre Dame Catholic High School! It is my honour and privilege to serve the Notre Dame Catholic High School community as your Principal. I extend a warm welcome to all the new families joining Notre Dame this year and I welcome back all our returning families.

I feel incredibly blessed to serve and give back to the community where I lived and taught for so many years. I was a teacher at Notre Dame for nine years before becoming an administrator in 2015, and I was fortunate to return to Notre Dame as Vice Principal in 2020. It is such a blessing to be able to lead a school community that I know and love, alongside colleagues I deeply respect and admire. I look forward to collaborating with students, parents, staff, the parish and our community partners to foster the talents and abilities of our students.

The Gospel and the example of Jesus inspire and guide every aspect of our life at Notre Dame. As Catholic educators, we live our faith throughout the entire school day and incorporate our faith throughout our daily activities, our curriculum, and our community projects. Together with our students, we pray, we celebrate Mass, we serve our communities through social justice initiatives, and we come together in times of celebration and grief. We strive to follow Christ’s example, and our Christian beliefs are evident in our every action.

As Catholic educators, we promote the development of the whole person. Together, we focus on the intellectual, physical, emotional and spiritual dimensions of every student. We recognize the value of each student’s innate intelligences, creative abilities and cultural heritage, and we encourage our students to develop these gifts while striving for academic success. We recognize that it is not enough to simply present our students with an academic curriculum. We understand that we are also responsible for each child’s moral and spiritual development.

Our ultimate mission as Catholic teachers is to inspire and prepare students to serve God and their communities. By providing a Christ-centered environment based on the Gospel values, we hope to prepare our students to enter our ever-changing world with strong Christian roots that will anchor them through difficult times. Through Catholic education, we aim to form resilient individuals who can make the right choices in their daily lives once they graduate and move into the world as independent adults.

Above all, the Catholic school is a genuine community of faith. Our teachers, clergy and parents work as a team to raise every student in the spirit of the Gospel. We believe in the importance of working together to build a strong Catholic community inspired by the teachings of Christ.
